REFUND POLICY

POLICY OVERVIEW

This policy applies to registration fees paid directly to the Clarington Minor Lacrosse Association either online or in person.

The principle behind our refund policy is to allow a reasonable period of time following registration for parents/players to withdraw, while still safeguarding the long-term financial stability of our programs

CMLA commits to program expenditure based on registrations and these expenses are not recoverable to the program if/when a member withdraws.

POLICY

The individual who paid the registration fee must make all refund requests in writing to the CMLA Registrar and Treasurer. Please allow 4-6 weeks for refunds to be processed.

An administrative fee of $50.00 ($32.10 non-refundable OLA Fee + a $17.90 processing fee) will be charged on approved refunds. The amount of set fee will be set annually by the CMLA.

  1. A paid registration fee shall be fully refunded in the event the CMLA is unable to provide “the opportunity to play lacrosse at the appropriate age level” due to lack of participants. No administrative fee shall be withheld in this case.

  2. A paid registration fee shall be partially refunded (pro-rated) in the event programming is cancelled due to municipal, provincial and/or federal mandates e.g. COVID-19. An administrative fee shall be withheld in this case.

  3. A paid registration fee shall be partially refunded (pro-rated) in the event the CMLA is able to provide “the opportunity to play lacrosse at the appropriate age level” but a player chooses to withdraw up to 2 weeks prior to the start of the program. An administrative fee shall be withheld in this case.

  4. A paid registration fee shall be partially refunded (pro-rated) if a player must withdraw for medical reasons prior to the start of the program (must provide doctor’s note). An administrative fee shall be withheld in this case.

  5. A paid registration fee shall be partially refunded (pro-rated) if a player’s family is transferred to another province or country (proof of transfer required) prior to the start of the program. An administrative fee shall be withheld in this case.

  6. There will be no refund of registration fees once a player is registered and the season has commenced.

  7. There will be no refund for a registration fee if a player is suspended or expelled from the CMLA because of Governing Body (OLA, OMFLL or OWFL) discipline policy or code of conduct rules.

  8. There will be no refund if a player withdraws due to medical reasons after the deadlines set out above with the exception of extenuating circumstance which must be presented and approved by the CMLA Rep Committee.
