Become An Official!

Are you passionate about lacrosse and looking for a new way to stay involved in the game? Whether you're a returning official or exploring officiating for the first time, we want you on our team!

There’s always a strong need for referees in minor lacrosse — and CMLA is proud to support the development of local officials across all levels of play.

Why become an Official?

Lacrosse Seasons in Ontario

Officials are needed throughout the year! Here’s when you can expect to work:

  • Spring Field (OMFLL): Mid-April to Mid-May

  • Box Lacrosse (OLA): Mid-May to Early August

  • Fall Field / Sixes (OMFLL): September to Mid-October

Who Can Officiate?

To become a certified official, you must:​

  • Be 14 years of age or older

  • Complete the certification process through the Ontario Lacrosse Officials Association (OLOA)

Training clinics and certification details are available on the Ontario Lacrosse Officials Association (OLOA) website and through the  Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA).
