Our U15 team had an extraordinary 2024 season, capturing the 'B' Division Field and Box Championships, winning two of three tournaments, and bringing home silver in the third! Their dedication, teamwork, and love for the game inspired everyone who witnessed their journey. On October 28, 2024, they were honoured by Clarington Council for their achievements, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they represented Clarington and the CMLA. Congratulations, U15, on an incredible season filled with heart and accomplishment!

U17 win the Ontario Summer Games in 2024! U17 made history by winning the coveted A Division Box Lacrosse Championship!

A Historic Season for Our U17-1 Team!

Our U17-1 team made history this year by qualifying for the Ontario Summer Games—one of Ontario's most prestigious youth sports events, bringing together top athletes from across the province in an Olympic-style competition. Not only did they qualify, but they also triumphed, capturing the coveted ‘A’ Division Box Championship—a monumental first for the Gaels! They also delivered an impressive spring field season, bringing home the silver medal in the ‘A’ Division Field Championships. Their accomplishments were recognized by Clarington Council on October 28th, 2024, where they were honoured for representing Clarington and the CMLA with excellence and sportsmanship. We couldn’t be prouder of this team’s dedication and can’t wait to see where their lacrosse journey takes them next. Congratulations, U17-1, on an unforgettable season!

House League is growing up — welcome to U7!

After mastering the basics in Softlax, players are ready to take their next big step with U7 House League!

At this stage, the focus is still on fun and development, but now kids begin learning real game play — positioning, teamwork, and the flow of a lacrosse game. They’ll build on skills like scooping, cradling, passing, and shooting, while starting to understand offense, defense, and working as a team.

It’s a perfect mix of play, learning, and building confidence — all while keeping the smiles and high-fives going!

U7 is where future Gaels get their first real taste of the game experience. Let’s go!

Player Spotlight: Liam McGlynn

A proud #GaelsNation alumni and standout freshman at Earlham College, Liam McGlynn (’06) is making waves in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC). As a Long Stick Midfielder (LSM), Liam’s impact on the field has been undeniable — earning First Team All-Conference honours in just his first collegiate season!

Recently named Defensive Player of the Week, Liam showcased his dominance by leading the Quaker defense with nine caused turnovers, 10 ground balls, and an impressive nine faceoff wins. His relentless work ethic, leadership, and game-changing presence have helped push his team to the playoff semifinals.

Liam’s success comes as no surprise. A graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic, he was the proud recipient of the Earl Strong Memorial Leadership Award, Titan Spirit Award, and the prestigious Trinity Medal. Off the field, Liam balances his athletic achievements with academic excellence as a Biology major, and he continues to embody the spirit of a true student-athlete.

From his roots in Courtice, Ontario — where he played for the CMLA and Turbo the Titans — to his collegiate rise with Earlham, Liam McGlynn is a name to watch. We’re proud to celebrate his accomplishments and excited to see what’s next for this talented Gaels alum!

Sharks vs. Minnows isn’t just a game—it’s a lacrosse tradition that’s been around forever, and it’s a staple in every player’s journey. The rules are simple: one player is the shark, everyone else is a minnow, and the goal is to race across the floor without losing the ball. But the magic lies in what it teaches: cradling, dodging, stick checking, and strategy.

It’s a drill disguised as a game, sharpening skills under pressure while keeping players on their toes. The minnows learn to protect their ball from defenders, weave through opponents, and think on the fly—essential skills for any game situation. The sharks, on the other hand, develop quick decision-making, aggressive stick checking, and a killer instinct to close the gap and take possession.

This team earned silver in the Provincial Box Championships, Zone 6 Playoffs, Six Nations Confederacy Challenge, Hamilton Super Series, and Peterborough Laker Classic. While it may have been a silver year, it was filled with golden talent—players who would go on to achieve incredible success in lacrosse and beyond.
