Fall Lacrosse
The Clarington Minor Lacrosse Association (CMLA) is proud to support player development, including through our Fall Sixes programming. Each year, pending interest from our membership, CMLA strives to offer a fall lacrosse option designed to keep sticks in hands and skills sharp during the off-season.

What Is Sixes Lacrosse?
Sixes is a fast-paced, version of lacrosse introduced by World Lacrosse. Played with six players per team on the field, it combines the best of box and field lacrosse, promoting speed, creativity, and constant engagement. With fewer stoppages and more touches, Sixes emphasizes skill development, quick decision-making, and teamwork in a fun and competitive environment.

Sixes lacrosse currently mirrors the structure of the traditional box season, with teams required to play a minimum number of games against other Zone 6 teams in order to qualify for Provincials. The Provincial Championships are typically held over a weekend and take place outside the Durham Region. Practices and games may be scheduled on weeknights or weekends, and all activities are held outdoors.

Who Can Tryout?
At this time, Representative-level Sixes lacrosse is available for players in the U9 division and above. Teams may be offered as co-ed or girls-only, depending on interest from our members. Prior to the season, the CMLA will collect expressions of interest and work collaboratively with other Zone 6 minor lacrosse associations to help form viable teams and ensure meaningful competition. The CMLA welcomes all members to attend tryouts, regardless of skill level.

Commitment to Development
At its core, Fall Sixes in Clarington is all about development. This post-season fall program provides players with the opportunity to build on their fundamentals in a lower pressure setting, while staying active and connected with teammates. It’s an ideal environment for athletes to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced format that’s rapidly growing on the global stage. Fall Sixes is thoughtfully structured to support both new and returning athletes as they continue to grow and prepare for the upcoming season.
