Representative Field Lacrosse
CMLA’s Representative (Rep) Field Lacrosse program is the first step in our competitive season, where teams come together in the spring to develop, compete, and prepare for the OMFLL Provincials before moving into the OLA Box Lacrosse season.
Our Rep teams are built as a full-season program. Players selected at tryouts will train and compete together through both the Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse League (OMFLL) Field and OLA Box seasons, creating consistency, team chemistry, and a strong development pathway.
Field season typically begins with tryouts in March (due to facility limitations), followed by weekly indoor and outdoor practices as weather and field access allow. Teams compete in the OMFLL, with games starting in mid-April and running through mid-May, ending with Provincials.
Field lacrosse has been an important part of CMLA’s growth and identity since our early years, with success spanning multiple age groups and two and a half decades. From our first field championship in 2006 to continued success in recent seasons, CMLA teams have competed with pride at the provincial level. Notable achievements include multiple ‘A’ division championships, Ontario Summer Games appearances and medals, and consistent development across all divisions. Our program has also produced award-winning players, coaches, and officials, reinforcing our commitment to development, sportsmanship, and excellence.

One Team, One Season
At CMLA, our Rep teams are structured as a single, continuous program. Following the completion of the field season, teams transition directly into box lacrosse, continuing their development and competition together.
This approach allows athletes to:
-
Build stronger team connections
-
Develop skills across both field and box environments
-
Experience a more cohesive and competitive season
-
Whether you are new to Rep or returning for another season, our field program is designed to challenge players, support development, and prepare them for success throughout the full lacrosse year.
Girls Field Lacrosse
At this time, CMLA offers girls programming through our box lacrosse teams only, and do not participate in the Junior Elite Women's Lacrosse League (JEWL).
Girls field lacrosse in Ontario is operated through separate leagues and organizations, including neighbouring programs such as the Lady Blue Knights and the Kawartha Fury.
Players interested in participating in girls field lacrosse are encouraged to explore these programs, keeping in mind that eligibility is typically based on residency requirements set by each organization. CMLA remains committed to supporting the growth of the girls game and will continue to evaluate opportunities to expand our programming in the future.
